Amelia's Library - 1   Hunger Games

Hi ! This article is the first one of a long serie, but before starting let me introduce the concept : if you're here, it's because you liked reading or watching Divergent, right ? And I'm sure you may enjoy other books or movies with a similar vibe ! So in these articles I'll present a book or a movie that you'll probably liked if you like Divergent.

For the first edition, let's talk about a well-known universe that you absolutely have to (re)discover as a Divergent fan : Hunger Games !

Hunger Games is a book trilogy about a dystopian society that is divided in 12 districts. Each year, every district must send a boy and a girl to compete for the Hunger Games, where they have to be the last survivor to win and to finally come back home.

It has also been adapted into 4 movies (the last book has been divided into 2 movies), if you prefer watching over reading !
In this trilogy, we follow the story of Katniss, who volunteers to the Hunger Games to protect her little sister. She will have to fight and make alliances to survive, but in the arena it's always comlicated... Especially when there are 23 other tributes determined to win.

The universe of Hunger Games is a perfect example of dystopia, with an authoritarian power and a society divided in groups hardly interacting with eachother. The characters are really well written and their stories are fascinating.

As a Divergent fan, you'll probably enjoy the complexity of this universe, but also the battles, the power games, the characters... In brief, you absolutely have to discover it !
