Fall Asleep
All of us have had those days where we're simply so tired we want to sleep all day, but as soon as we get into bed, we're still lying awake, staring through the darkness at whatever interesting thing our eyes lay upon and we think. Either willingly or not, we all fall into the rabbit hole of thinking, either too much or too little. However, in this article, I'll be giving helpful ways to fall asleep guaranteed!
One way I fall asleep is hiding my clock. Now I know what you're thinking: how can hiding a clock possibly help with my lack of sleep? Firstly, it's been shown (by studies and my own experiences) that repeatedly checking the time induces MORE stress and leads to you staying awake even longer! By hiding your clock, you no longer need to stress over what time it is or how long it's supposed to be until you need to get ready, you can simply relax and drift off into the dreamscape!
Another way I fall asleep is by meditating! By taking 10-15 minutes before bed to meditate and ease my mind of the stress and worries of the day, I clear my head and focus simply on sleeping. Meditation does not work right away though, sometimes it takes a little longer for some people to completely wash their worries away and that's perfectly fine! Integrating meditation into my bedtime routine has worked wonders and I hope it will for you too!
