Recipe From The Heart
Root Beer
Hello there! My name is Leia and welcome to a new article! Today I will be sharing with you how to make… ROOT BEER!
Now, Root Beer is actually one of the items you can find in one of our shops, which is ERUDITES ELIXIRS. Now, let’s get into this!

Here are the ingredients that you will need:
- Sarsaparilla which is traditionally used as a renal tonic and for the complexion.
- Ginger, which gives this root beer recipe a rich, fiery note. Ginger is also extremely good for health!
- Licorice which gives the recipe a subtle, anise-like sweetness that pairs well with sassafras. This is also good for your health. Root beer is truly both tasty and nutritious!
- Dandelion Root adds the subtlest bitter note to the brew

- Start with cold water, and toss the herbs inside! All of the herbs, except for Sassafras. I’ll explain that in a while!
- Switch up the sweetener.
- Add your starter only once the herbal mixture cools.
- Use flip-top bottles, which effectively capture all the carbon dioxide that builds up during fermentation - which means a fizzy brew for you.
- Lastly, Add the sassafras. While most woody herbs need time to release their flavor, sassafras is deeply aromatic and its aroma dissipates quickly with prolonged cooking. So toss it into the pot toward the end of simmering for best flavor.

IMPORTANT NOTE!
Pay attention to the temperature in your kitchen. Homemade root beer will ferment faster in a warm kitchen, and more slowly in a cold one.

Now, that is the end of our article! If you have a suggestion for what we should make next, please send me a IG message. The person who gets chosen also gets a cup of root beer from Erudite Elixirs and also will get featured in our next article!

Until next time!
